Mini-Writeshop on Online Writing
The first of a series of mini seminar-workshops was held last Friday, March 16, 2012 at the Palawan State University Research Office. The mini-workshop aimed to mentor participants on how to write articles online. Dr. Regoniel and Ms. Dollente, research director and publications in-charge respectively, briefed the participants on how to go about online writing particularly on the structure of articles (TSPU Principle), search engine optimization (SEO), and how to join free online writing websites. Both lecturers have extensive experience in online writing and have published hundreds of articles online.
The writeshop was attended by interested faculty and staff coming from the Information Technology Department, the College of Arts and Humanities, the Planning Office, the Center for Strategic Policy and Governance, the College of Community Resources Development and staffers of the University Research Office. At the end of the day, four online articles were produced, each reflecting the faculty member's college or department concerns.

One-on-one mentoring approach was used to guide participants on the ropes of writing articles online.
Similar training will once again be held each week in the forthcoming weeks as part of the University Research Office's Capability Enhancement Program to help the faculty and staff of PSU take gradual steps towards developing their skills in research writing and publication.
